The tour we did was based around what is what is commonly known as The Golden Triangle.
Delhi, Jaipur and Agra with the absolute highlight being the Taj Mahal at sunrise. It is incredibly majestic and in a way very spiritual. It was constructed for pure love and something that we dreamed about seeing for a long time. Having read about it and sold the destination for so many years it was a magical moment to be in the space and think about the journey and realisation of standing in front of this incredible building.
The accommodation was great, transport was very comfortable and the guides we had were extremely passionate and knowledgeable about their vibrant country. Old Delhi was also one of our favourite places to visit, the sights, smells and sounds were fascinating and trust me there was a whole lot going on. We went on a rickshaw ride around Old Delhi and that too was a highlight, ducking and weaving between crazy drivers, however it all flowed, with everyone knowing where they should be on the road.
We wandered around the old markets and were lucky enough to sample some local delicacies, catering for all tastes. The meals were very well prepared and plenty of choice on offer, in fact a couple of extra kilos were definitely gained!!
